SNOHOMISH, WA—The Snohomish Skyhawks (2-2-0) hosted Bellingham United (3-0-0) at the Snohomish Soccer Dome with hopes of catching up to the 2-time Champs in the table. Last week the Skyhawks scored in the first 9 seconds. This time it all started off with another quick goal inside 10 seconds for Bellingham. The first half was pretty tight and both teams wasted no opportunities to shoot or stand in the way of a shot. The Skyhawks scored three in the first half: Tye Hastings, Devin Shull, and Paul Burgess. Bellingham meanwhile put two past Skyhawks goalkeeper Trevor Davoren to make it 3-2 Snohomish at the half.
Snohomish made a goalkeeper change to Seth Hespe for the second half. Third period was a battle of defense with Tye Hastings scoring the only goal in the third for the home side. The Hammers got two of their own and the match was 4-4 going in to the last quarter. Fourth period is where Bellingham’s relentless pressure finally wore down the Skyhawks. The Hammers reeled off 5 goals in the period to take a 9-4 lead before Adrian Espinoza got one back to make the final score 9-5 for Bellingham.
Nick Cashmere and Richard Henderson scored hat tricks for the Hammers. Cashmere has now scored a hat trick in every Bellingham match this season.
Bellingham Goals: Nick Cashmere (3), Richard Henderson (3), Jared Davis, Uriel Herrera, Chris Jepson.
