OLYMPIA, WA— The Snohomish Skyhawks exploded for 7 goals in the second quarter during Saturday night’s Western Indoor Soccer League opener at the Oly Town Artesians. The huge outburst played a big role in the club’s eventual 15-6 win. The Skyhawks got hat tricks from three players along the way: Andrew Escalante, Alex Molchan and Paul Burgess.
The crazy, cozy confines of Oly Town’s pitch make matches at The Evergreen State College Pavilion different than other WISL contests. Goalkeepers have scored several times and the place is closer to a circle than a rectangle. But the Skyhaws have done well there. The led 4-2 after the first quarter, 11-3 at the half and then paced themselves the rest of the way. It was 14-4 after three quarters.
Along with the hat trick guys listed above, Snohomish also got goals from Tye Hastings (2), Aaron Burns, Corey Henderickson, and John Troka. The Artesians chipped in an own goal.

The Skyhawks go solid, sometimes spectacular play in goal from Trevor Davoren and Seth Hespe.
Next up for Snohomish is the club’s home opener on November 18 at 7 PM at the Snohomish Soccer Dome against the Tacoma Stars Reserves. Tacoma won their match this week 5-3 over the Olympic Force.
